Walking for Gazza’s Dream
Noni lost her Dad last year after his battle with prostate cancer.
Their dream was to complete the 1,000km Bibbulmun Track together.
Noni will honor Gazza’s dream and walk solo commencing on the anniversary of his passing on 31st August 2023
Meet Gazza
My Dad was a lovable larrikin who had a large appetite for life with a sharp wit and always had a story to tell!
He loved nothing more than telling a “Dad joke” to playing pranks on people and making people laugh.
We got our laughs from him when he would bust out his special dance routine to his favourite song “I’m a Believer” by the Monkees.
Gazza’s Dream
It was Dad’s dream that when his health returned, we would walk the Bibbulmun Track together and raise money to support other people on a cancer journey.
Even through his darkest moments, my Dad was so grateful for the love and support that he had battling this disease that he always wanted to give back and help others.
Being from Collie in the south west of Western Australia, our family witnessed first hand the stress and strain living remotely can be when you need to travel for ongoing treatment and medical appointments.
A Little About Me –
Noni Kohler
I have thought about how difficult the 31st August will be for me and my family this year as my Dad’s first anniversary approaches.
I know it will be a very sad day and instead of sitting around and grieving, I came up with the idea of doing the 1,000km Bibbulmun Track with my Dad spurring me on.
I have started training in the gym, dehydrating some food and have a mind full of incredible memories of our time together to encourage me to reach the finish line on 21st October.
How can YOU help?
After careful consideration and research, I have selected Blue Dot Army as the charity that I am fundraising for during my journey.
Your generous donation will help Gazza’s dream come true and change the cancer experience for people like him and make their journey a little easier.
Part proceeds will also go to the Bibbulmun Track Foundation.
